2024 Summer Student Email: [email protected] Caitlin is a recent graduate of Saint Mary’s University with a BA (Honours) in Psychology (2024). Her undergraduate thesis explored spelling practice and reading comprehension in children. She will be attending Dalhousie University to complete her MSc in Speech-Language Pathology in September 2024. Caitlin began volunteering at the STIC lab working on a variety of projects and is now a summer research student under the direction of Dr. Curran. Throughout the summer she will be assisting with several studies focused on Patient Safety and Quality Improvement with her main project being a scoping review on Data Communication Methods to Inform Clinical Decision-making. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with friends, family, and her cat, Tayton. |
Gabriella Fera (she/her)
2024 Summer Student Email: [email protected] Gabriella Fera is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Health Promotion at Dalhousie University, with a minor in Psychology (expected 2026). She has recently joined the STIC lab as a recipient of the Dalhousie University Faculty of Health Undergraduate Summer Research Award (URSA) under the mentorship of Dr. Curran. As a summer student, Gabby is excited to develop her research skills and contribute to research conducted in the STIC lab. This summer, she will be working on a scoping review currently being developed on Performance Indicators and Culture in Hospital settings. In her free time Gabby loves spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, and listening to music. |

Grace joined the STIC lab as a summer research student under the supervision of Dr. Cassidy. She was a recipient of the Dalhousie University Faculty of Health Undergraduate Summer Research Award (USRA). Heading into her fourth year as a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion Honours student, Grace is set to graduate in Spring 2025. She has been involved at the IWK as Patient Partner on the Transition of Care Committee and as a youth facilitator for the You’re In Charge Program. Grace is passionate about improving the transition from pediatric to adult healthcare for healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers. In addition to assisting with studies on clinical decision-making and knowledge translation, Grace is looking forward to working on her main project which will focus on evaluating the impact of a transition of care framework on youth transitioning to adult care. She is excited to explore applied health research and develop her research skills further while at the STIC lab this summer. In her free time, Grace enjoys baking and cooking, listening to podcasts, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.
