Jemeela earned an honours Bachelor of Science degree from Toronto Metropolitan university, formally Ryerson University, where she studied Biomedical Science and Psychology as medicine became a significant part of her identity. She began her journey to medicine at a very young age with the constant intention of working with the youth population. Jemeela is now a second year medical student at Dalhousie University with the Class of 2025 and has been working on a scoping review under the supervision of Dr. Christine Cassidy. Jemeela is looking at what current educational programs and toolkits exist for healthcare providers to aid in the transitions in care from pediactrics to adult health care. She looks forward to conducting research that focuses on the barriers, enablers and facilitators of transitioning between pediatric and adult care services.
