Madison is a Registered Nurse and a Master of Science in Nursing student at Dalhousie University. Madison’s clinical work includes nursing in areas such as cardiovascular surgery, critical care, and teaching both at Dalhousie University and with the learning institute at Nova Scotia Health Authority. Madison’s master research uses a knowledge translation approach, systematically searching the literature to identify interventions to mitigate nursing burnout in critical care areas. Working with IWK Health, Madison has been participating in research to inform evidence-based solutions to patient safety concerns in medication management, safety culture in the operating room, and workplace well-being for staff and patients alike. She is a strong advocate for creating and supporting healthy workplace initiatives and considering creative solutions to complex health systems challenges.
